  • PF4 on android auto

Does anyone know if it is possible or can it be done, if we can get the PF4 app on the screen with a headunit running android auto.

The tablet is good. But it would be great if we could use the dash features to display on and through the android auto screen.

You need a head unit that will "mirror" the phone/tablet. Or a Chinese unit that you load the Edelbrock app to....Please don't get a Chinese unit. They lock-up all the time.

Android Auto is for text messaging, phone calling, and maps.

In order to do mirroring ( displaying almost any thing the phone displays...Some video services will not work. Like YouTube ). You need a phone that can do HDMI to a HDMI head unit.

    This has HDMI input: https://www.pioneerelectronics.com/P.../DMH-WC6600NEX

      Thanks for the reply.

I have the nex3500 as that is the only single din flip out screen that is not a Chinese dumpster fire.

There is a long convoluted way to mirror with this. But I like the back up camera more than app.

I will ultimately go a banks idash as that works on a pillar. Rather that then tearing out the new muscle series gauges.

      Thanks again for the reply

I just did one of those last week. I forgot how it weighs about 25 pounds.

It does have 2 extra video inputs ( I did TV tuner, and over head DVD player ), other than the backup camera input.

You could try the Pioneer CD-RM10 ( or knock-off equivalent ), micro USB to HDMI adapter, and HDMI to component adapter.

This might be junk, or it might be good. But I generally like BOYO's stuff.

          Anyway.

          It's a heads up display: https://visiontechamerica.com/collec...ead-up-display

Now that I think about it. This would be the best type of option for classic cars: https://www.ebay.com/itm/BOYO-VTG700...QAAOSwqW9ZX9be
