  • 428 fitment

I removed an Edelbrock Performer manifold from my 428 engine to install my new Pro Flo 4. The Performer fit well but the Pro Flo 4 won’t sit in the valley when I do a dry fit. It’s not even close. This is a Pro Flo 4150 which is supposed to fit 390 and 428 engines. Does anyone have any ideas?

Take some photos & try it without gaskets and valve covers.
Don't get too caught up in the numbers.
Just give the Engine what it wants &
Let the numbers be what they are.

I did try both manifolds without gaskets and the Performer fits nice in the valley like it should but the Pro Flo 4 won’t even sit in the valley. I’ll get some pictures when I get back to the shop.

Hmm I have a 428 and didn’t have that issue. My problem was getting the intake bolts to seat flush. Had to do a little machining with the die grinder to counter sink them a bit.
