  • What does the Rev limiter sound like?

I'm curious how the PF4 manages the Rev limit function. Is it a "soft cut" limiter? Does it limit fuel or cut ignition?

    Cuts Fuel & Spark.

Don't get too caught up in the numbers.
Just give the Engine what it wants &
Let the numbers be what they are.

I blew the tires off in low gear, didn't intend to, it didn't sound user friendly.

My revlimiter has red and blue lights, and actually speaks to me "you in the vehicle making all the tire smoke, pull over".
In my neighborhood, if you open your hood to check your oil, and the vehicle still runs after you close it.......Then your labeled the Neighborhood Mechanic.

I think I found my rev limiter toady and it sound like I had a 2 step for a second. I heard POP! POP! Then I upshifted and never heard it again. So I put the truck in low gear and slowly went to 5,800 RPM (limiter set at 6,000) and no popping?

              When you use E85 fuel.
You should wait till it has been refined before using.

Unrefined E85 will give you a pop, pop sound, and white fluffy snacks will come out of the exhaust pipes.

I run premium unleaded currently. I will move my rev limit up to the next level and see what happens.

                  Next level?

If you set it to high you will get the following message:
"Were sorry. But the RPM level currently set at is out of your money range. Please add more Edelbrock performance parts to continue".
