Most likely starter heat soak issue. Try a heat shield blanket on the starter before messing with the PF4 settings. You say that there's good clearance but??

I should have specified this, the engine cranks very slow like timing is dragging the starter down. AIC is at approximately 15% while running.

Hot start problems.
I have recently put Pro-Flo 4 on my 383 sbc, it starts cold perfect, idles great and runs fantastic. The problem is hot starts. I believe base timing is spot-on, and the only difference is now the EFI instead of the carb. Same Optima Red Top battery and gear reduction mini starter. I did change headers too, but I gained a significant amount of clearance around the starter. Is there a way to retard or halt ignition all together while cranking for a couple revolutions or a preset amount of time? ThanksTags: None
