  • Carter mech fuel pump clatter after PF-4/36031 350 SBC build

PF-4 Build is awesome, finally. Working out the bugs. Build is 5yr old SBC 350 built to 400Hp with a Carter mech fuel pump, new 357600 EFi, fuel to a Edelbrock 36031 sump/e-fuel pump @ 58psi to fuel rods.
kit O2 sensor failed about 20 miles out and flooded engine on way back home. Edelbrock sent new sensor, changed badly fouled plugs. Ran great for next test, about 30 miles out carter fuel pump started to clatter like a gong, much more at idle but at all speeds.
Q: is there an issue with deadheading the carter pump into the 36031 that may cause the Carter to fail?
Thanks in advance for the reply, Joe

What output pressure is this Carter Fuel Pump rated at? Is it a new pump? There should not be an issue dead heading a low pressure mechanical pump into the sump. The sump inlet is controlled by floats just like a carb.
