Hello:
I have an issue with getting the BEditor started on a vista laptop running 1366x768 resolution. I have installed, uninstalled a hundred times, I have downloaded the latest as well. I have it running on an XP machine, but on this laptop, it will not start up. the eFlash will startup and connect just fine, but not the bEditor. It starts, shows the UI, then it goes directly to not responding. I do not even get the startup panels on the UI. I finally tried several compatability modes and that didnt' help. The one thing I did that finally got it to go is not compatability mode, but to run it with 640x480 resolution by right clicking on it under the compatability mode settings. So I thought, i would go change my resolution and run it, and I kept bumping resolution on this laptop down even to 800x600 and it still will not start. The only time this program will start is if I check 640x480 in the compatability mode section. Can someone please help me get it going. I really need it to run in my native 1366x768 resolution so it's clear... P.S. I also went into my graphics card and changed a bunch of settings trying to get it to work and it never would... thanks |

I am using Vista also. I don't have any issues like what you are seeing. I just install the software as normal. Here are a couple of questions;
Are you using the default installation path or are you changing it to a different drive? When the installation shows a file you are trying to copy is older than the one on the drive, do you keep the newer one or replace it? Are you familiar with regedit? If so, go to hkey current users>software>VB and VBA applications>power to win and delete the editor entry. Then try restarting bEditor again. You are running Vista 32 and not 64 correct? The software will not opperate correctly on 64. Which version of Vista are you using? i.e. Pro, home edition, etc. |

Hello... I am using the default install path, as it doesn't work at all if I use a different path. when it asks for copying of older files, I always use my newer files, but after about 30 reinstalls, I went ahead and replaced and it still didn't operate.
I also tried removing the registry entries for power win in the registry (I work with software) and it just rebuilt them obviously and had no effect on the software. I have just vista 32 installed ( business edition) and the software does work, it just has to be on 640x480 in compatability mode... thanks. |

Very strange. I have assisted in installation on a lot of Vista machines, with no problems.
My particular laptop is set to 1280 x 720. I haven't tried the resolution you have, but I will see if I can reproduce the problem tomorrow. I also find it strange that eFlash is OK, but bEditor dies. I'll try to work through a few resolutions and see what I can come up with. |

Yes.. it is strange... and I have it running on a desktop that has 3 monitors wide...
I have tried on my vista laptop different settings, even 800x600 and it failed as well... |

Any news on this issue... I have downloaded 7.1.11 software version and it still shows 7.1.8 or so on for th ebeditor.exe. I can't get it working on a laptop unless I go to 640x480 on a vista machine...
