We do not make a XT style manifold for the L92 head. We will add it to our applications list, but I don't have a good timeline as to when we would start working on it.

Does an engine have to be out 10 years before you make anything for it? And regarding the "call for questions" who uses the phone anymore? Internet is where its at. You guys are so behind the times its amazing....with your parts (this L92 intake) and your way of doing business. The market for them exists right now. By the time you start making them.....like this LS1 application....LS1s are not even being made anymore and new stuff is on the table and better. You will wonder why the sales of these wont be spectacular.....your 10 years to late.

Although we may not posses your foresight and skills in marketing to the automotive aftermarket, we do spend a lot of time and resources in determining what products we offer and when the right time for us to manufacture and release them will be.
We also may be a bit "behind the times" in the way we do business and with the products we offer, but 2009 is the 71st year Edelbrock has been in the automotive aftermarket business and when something works, you tend to stick with it. The internet has changed the way many businesses market their products and handle technical support issues. We tried that approach for several years, but the majority of our customers have let us know that they would rather speak to someone on the phone, rather than use the internet or e-mail to resolve issues. We are still working on improving our presence on the internet, this forum as an example, and as our customers demand more internet driven help we will do our best to improve our on-line support options. Thanks for your suggestions and observations, we are always glad to have feedback from our customers. |

my thought is.....the Ls1 version won't even fit under the hood of cars that came with an Ls-1 engine......Hmmm. or an Ls2 for that matter (at least not without major mods). So your market for this intake is only retrofit applications, which is pretty strong i guess. And the the demand for an intake like this is in crazy demand.
But, people who know and love this kind of engine are already looking at L92/Ls3 style heads due to there superiority. I know i am. I have a 6.0L junk yard build that i put L92 heads on. Why? cause they flow better and are not expensive. I could have put an Ls2 cathedral port head on it, but why? I would have either spent more money, or had lower flowing numbers for the buck. The point is.....the retrofit market for L92/Ls3 is gonna be bigger that Ls1 IMO. I would probably buy this intake for my 68 camaro. Oh, but you don't make it. darn! YOU REALLY NEED TO HURRY UP AND MAKE THE L92/LS3 VERSION OF THIS INTAKE......PLEASE! PEOPLE WILL CUT OPEN THERE HOODS TO MAKE THIS THING FIT. ![]() ![]() Oh I also would like to get rid of the carburetor on my big block chevelle to run this system.

So what's the vote, make it tall like the current XT and make tons of power... or 2) make it shorter and fit better but sacrifice power. The short version still won't fit as a bolt on but it could be a LOT easier to fit.
thanks Brent |

ok here's my take....i've got a 68 camaro with a 6.0L swap. it has L92 heads and the stock ls3/l76 intake. since the height of the intake is gonna make it more applicable for swaps.....I say make it tall like the ls1 you already make.
although i would like it to fit under a stock height cowl 68 camaro hood, I dont know if it's too tall or not for me. so what is the height measurment of the tall version? I know the stock intake gives me loads of room......with more to spare. I'm just saying i think that the tall intake will be used more with swap builds, which is what i have. Theres more of a chance that the tall intake will work in older cars like 65 malibu, 71 chevelle, 68 camaro. if the swap market is what your after, which i think it is, then make fit a first gen camaro and you'll be golden. would you like to have my car for a mock up? here it is. http://www.lateral-g.net/members/craig/ |

Thanks for the info and GREAT PICTURES. That's an awesome car and story. Even the Tall version would fit your car. We haven't built the proto's yet, so that's our next step. We do want to finish up in the Fall 09.
