It doesn't appear to. You wouldn't require a return line on a carby system , would you ?? Can't say I've ever seen one.

Default edlebrock 600cfm carb surging under load?

hello to all! not really sure how to use this site? not sure if my problem will end up in the right section but here we go anyway.i have a 1971 monte carlo with a 350sb.i did a complete overhall over a year ago(freshened up).the motor is basically stock all edlebrock performer cam-intake & carb.once engine is hot iam getting a surge at red lights in drive. i have adjusted float levels several times and there hasnt been any change.car runs fine for 1/2 hr os so but i then have to compensate at the red light, one foot on the brake and one on the gas.now i had a friend hold the car in drive and i made adjustments to timing, idle mixture screws and idle set screws.now i got it to not stall but it is idling to high and every time i try to get it to idle lower the surging continues.i checked for vacuum leaks, overheating.and initial timing.everything is new including a basic run of the mill hei.i also ran a fibre spacer plate under the carb. now iam wondering? the intake iam using is a performer intake that is meant to have a quadrajet bolted to it.(originally was going to use a quadrajet, which i think i should have done) but there is no leaking coming around the carb.as much time i have been spending dealing with this iam about ready to kick this carb to the curb!do i need to jet this carb? i have set the float level at 7/16 like they show online but then the carb leaks out the side of the airhorn.am i getting vapor lock? i even bought the nomex heat sleave for my 5/16 ful line and re-flared it but it didnt make any difference.help!! me obi-one!! i wrenched professionally for a number of years and now iam starting to feal like a dumb arss on the most basic of engines ever made.thanks-troy.
