I have a '69 chevelle with a stock gas tank/sending unit with no return line. Looking to put Proflo2 on a sbc 350. I've read that you recommend 3/8" for sending lines, and 5/16" for return lines.

1)What kind of connections do the fuel rails need to connect to the fuel lines?

2)Do I need to upgrade to 'High pressure' fuel lines? Should I do this just to be compatible with the fuel rails?

3)Is there a way I can keep my stock gas tank and add a return line for the EFI to it?

Thank you.

Here's a link to the installation instructions:

Take a look at them. Should answer your questions.

Blackstar,
We just added the return line to the rubber fill tube that connects the gas cap fill tube to the gas tank.

My tank had a 2" OD neck, so I picked up a 2" OD exhaust coupler and drilled a hole for a -6 bulkhead fitting. The original intention was to drill through the top plate of the sending unit, but there just wasn't enough room to fit a bulkhead connector or much else. It's probably for the best though as dumping the returning fuel onto the float would've prevented any possibility of an accurate fuel level reading.
I cut the exhaust tubing long enough to contain the fitting and two hose clamps, one on each side of the bulkhead connector. I drilled the exhaust tubing just large enough to get the straight threaded portion of the bulkhead connector through and put a nut and stainless steel bolt through the hole along with a few grade 8 washers and tightened them to press a flat spot into the round tube so that the bulkhead connector would seal.

Once I was sure that everything fit the way it should, I tightened a hose clamp above and below the fitting.

I then had to shorten the filler neck by the length of the exhaust tubing that I added to get the tank to properly seat back into the straps that hold it in place.

We were originally going to use the 3/8" supply line as the return line and run 1/2" aluminum tube as the supply, but we weren't sure about the burst strength of the aluminum tubing so we're gong to plumb the whole system with Russell high pressure flexible fuel line. Dash 6 for the return and -8 for the supply.
Hopefully this was some help.
