I will be putting the proflo system on a newly rebuilt engine and need to run the engine cam break-in for 25 minutes/2000 rpm.

Question: Is there a problem with removing the throttle body and installing a carburetor temporarily for the 25 minutes of engine break-in? It is a lot of extra work, time and gasket expense to install the old intake/carb for the break-in and then remove to install the proflo intake. Will this have any harmful effect on the injectors?

We thought of that also when we put my motor on the dyno. I my opinion you'd be better off running it with the stock intake and carb. You would have to make a custom adapter for a carb because the intake is for a weber dose not have the square or spread bolt patten. There is a Lot of tuning that needs to be done to get these system to get them to run just right. Don't take my word for it read some of the other post. If i could do it all over again that's what I'd do. Would give me the piece of mind that it was broken right, not trying to get the motor to run or should I say stay running or idle properly during the break in period. Again just my opinion.
