I have a 67 Camaro 327 RS Convertible and am ready to make the change from carburetion to EFI. I am interested in the ProFlo 2 system #35070 with e-tech heads. I have the Comp Cams XE262H cam (as recommended by one of your tech staff for the proflo system) A few of questions.......

Will I have enough hood clearance with a standard hood?

What kind of distributor is best for this system. I will not be modifying my current distributor, but will buy a small cap distributor.

Will the original GM in-dash tachometer work with this system?

Can I use my MSD 6AL ignition?

Thanks very much.

See the replys to your questions below.

Will I have enough hood clearance with a standard hood? There is a measurement section in the installation instructions to determine what the installed height will be. you can get the instructions here; http://www.edelbrock.com/automotive_new/mc/efi/pf_soft-tech.shtml

What kind of distributor is best for this system. I will not be modifying my current distributor, but will buy a small cap distributor. Mallory makes the only drop-in distributor for a chevy. See the post here; http://forums.edelbrock.com/forums/showthread.php?t=37

Will the original GM in-dash tachometer work with this system? I assume it is electric; Yes, it should drive the tach with no problems.

Can I use my MSD 6AL ignition? Yes, there are instructions on how to connect it in the Pro-Flo_2 installation manual.

Thanks very much.

For Pro Flo 2 35000,35030, and 35070 you would hook your tack lead up to pin 21 on the small connector. The ECU should drive the tack without a problem.

The kit includes 3 pigtails, just use one of these and hook your brown tack wire that went to the large cap to this pigtail.

The other way would be to just grab Tach source from the MSD box. Its you choice.

Thanks for the information on the ProFlo2.

I purchased the 35070 kit and took delivery yesterday. I noticed that there is a large flexible fuel supply line that Edelbrock wants to be used. Are there any substitutes for this rather bulky line? I understand the need to ensure that the high pressure supply line has full structrural integrity and am thinking that this is the reason that Edelbrock ensures that a new line is provided. I have installed a new stainless supply line already and would like to know why that new SS hard line would be inferior to the Edelbrock supplied flexible line. Obviously I would prefer using the line that I have already installed. It looks better too!

Looking forward to enjoying your product!

The hose is provided to supply the vehicle with a complete ready to run package in the box. If you would prefer to use hard tube, braided stainless, or proclassic hose instead of the provided twist lok hose they are all acceptable. Make sure your tubing is sized adequately for your application, 3/8" or #6 AN.
