Does universal throttle body 38783 use the same IAC as the factory Ford EFI system? The catalog doesn't show a picture of the IAC mounting flange. Would it be possible to get a picture of the IAC mounting flange to make sure this throttle body will work in my application? Thanks.

Ford has used several different IAC configurations over the years. It depends on what OEM electronics you have. The 38783 does include a Hitachi pulse width modulated IAC valve that was used in some late model Ford applications. That throttle body was not really intended to be a replacement for an OEM electronics application though...more for converting from carb to EFI.

Understood. I'm using aftermarket tools to custom tune the stock electronics and can remap the IAC motor so it sounds like this should be a good fit for my application. Thanks.

Hello,
Not to hijack your thread, but I am also interested in doing the same thing. Are you using the EEC-IV? I would like to use my EEC-IV A9L with a Tweecer RT for tuning. Would also like to use the 1989 Mustang AIC if possible.
Regards,
Rick
