hi guys. i've been doing an engine rebuild w/ a pontiac super victor efi manifold, but am not yet ready to ditch the carb.
i had the holes for the injectors plugged up with plastic caps with a little gasket sealant on them, but one backfire and 5 out of the 8 blew out. ;)
can anyone recommend a more solid way to block these off temporarily?
thanks!

If you are planning to use EFI eventually, do you have the injectors and fuel rails?
We switch back and forth here all the time. Just install the injectors and rails, block off the fuel rail fittings and leave the injectors unplugged.

I suppose that would be the smart thing to do. :)
Unfortunately I have not yet ordered injectors/rails (am not even sure which ones I'd like to use.)
Until that happens, do you think I could get away with maybe a piece of flat aluminum screwed into the manifold (between the injector bosses), and a little bit of gasket sealant...?
If not, I guess I'll have to get to researching injectors.

I guess you could try that. I'd be worried about vacuum leaks though.
