I am trying to troubleshoot a performer carb 1406. By no means is the carb new, or can I necissarily say it's in good condition. It is on a 350 crate motor in a Jeep. Not daily driven and taken off road quite frequently. I am having trouble with the idle. A lot of the time, it is PERFECT! But if I take a turn one way or the other, go over some bumpy terain, or look at it the wrong way it can make a turn for the worst. It will have a hard time running at all. I have taken all the necissary steps to adjusting the electric choke, high and low idle and set the mixing screws as recomended. Like I said, most of the time it runs better than it ever has. I dont know what kind of fuel pump i am running, so tomorrow I will be installing a high pressure manual pump just to see if it makes a diff. Worth a try even if it doesnt work. Please give me any suggestion you can think of. I am desperate at this point. I have even contemplated just buying a new carb, but I don't want it to come to that.
Thanks
