My husband installed a conversion on our 1995 chevy 454 dually. For the most part the system worked fine. The kit was installed in 1999 and we are now having issues with the system that cannot be resolved. About 6 months ago we had to send the injectors off to a service company as we were unable to locate a full set of injectors to replace all of them. After refurbishing six of the injectors and sending two refurbished injectors to replace the two that were toast, the truck ran fine for about a month. Now it has started running terrible again; rough idle but tolerable under no load but acts like it is starving under load. It will drop down to about 35 (no acceleration available) then clear up and appear to run almost normal. I have backtracked fuel pressure, filter, pumps, etc. Finally took it to a shop to put it on a computer which indicated a miss (duh). They determined that one of the injectors was dead. I am unable to locate a set of injectors (19lb/hr) that will fit this application. Any suggestions? and will a new set of injectors solve this problem?

I have had good luck with Edelbrock tech help. Anyway fuel injectors are easy to plug up! The fuel lines, fittings, threads, and pipe sealant all can create unwanted FOD. You must be VERY careful to ensure you do not introduce debree into the system after the main fuel filter. The filter screen that is in the inlet to the injectors is kind of a last chance screen and will not stop all the debree. The injectors can be acquired most likely from Edelbrock or go to www.rceng.com.
