hello i own a 87 ranger 4 weel drive I want to put a a 302 boss, 351W or a 460 in it what mods would i have to do to fit the motor under my hood an make it work.

I motor that is most likly to fit is a 302, or a 351 as the 460 is out of the question with droping in more then its worth.

The auto trans is a easy swap compared to a manuel, due to clutch pedal and other parts.

As for keeping it under the hood just stay away from hi-rise manifolds and you will be alright.

I have seen blowers on a 302 in a full sized truck with no hood mods. I do not see it being a problem for you.

There are aftermarket kits to put the 302 in these trucks. Avoid a 302 Boss engine as they make all hosepower and zero torque. If you can fit a 302, you can always fit a 347, and make plenty of torque to push the 4WD.
